JDMC Alumnae Meet 2025: A Night of Nostalgia, Laughter, and Lifelong Bonds!

There are some evenings that feel like magic—where time slows down, and memories come alive. The Janki Devi Memorial College (JDMC) Alumnae Meet 2025 at Hyatt Centric, West Delhi, was exactly that! Though the event was not on the college campus, the energy, the vibe, and the spirit were undeniably JDMC-style—warm, vibrant, and full of nostalgia.

As we entered the grand Centric Ballroom, a wave of memories washed over us. The iconic JDMC spirit was in the air—laughter echoed, long-lost friends embraced, and animated conversations filled the room. Principal Prof. Swati Pal welcomed all the former students with open arms, making everyone feel right at home.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

What made the evening even more special was the diversity in the crowd. Alumnae from almost every decade were present—some reminiscing about the simplicity of college life in the ’70s, others sharing stories of the ‘90s when Delhi University was buzzing with protests, poetry, and politics. And then there were the 2000s batchmates, talking about Orkut, SMS culture, and the time when DU canteens served Maggi for just ₹10!

The event was a perfect blend of nostalgia and celebration. From a spirited DJ dance session to interactive games that had everyone laughing, the room was alive with the JDMC zest.

Celebrating JDMC’s Legacy

JDMC has been a beacon of women’s education and empowerment since its foundation in 1959 by Shri Brij Krishna Chandiwala in memory of his mother, Smt. Janki Devi. Over the years, it has grown into one of Delhi University’s most prestigious women’s colleges, with international collaborations, groundbreaking research, and cultural activities that have gained global recognition.

Did You Know?

🔹 JDMC was one of the first DU colleges to have an Entrepreneurship Cell dedicated to empowering women in business and startups.

🔹 In 2001, the college library still had those heavy wooden card catalogs—Google was yet to take over!

🔹 JDMC’s alumni include celebrated artists, authors, bureaucrats, journalists, and business leaders.

The Importance of Reunions

As the evening progressed, we realized why reunions are so priceless. They remind us how far we’ve come—from being carefree college students to successful professionals, all while carrying a piece of JDMC in our hearts. The meet wasn’t just about reconnecting with friends; it was about celebrating the journey from those fun-filled campus days to the present, where we have grown with grace, wisdom, and success.

As the night ended, no one wanted to leave. The hugs lingered longer, the selfies kept coming, and the promises of “Let’s do this again soon” echoed all around. JDMC isn’t just a college; it’s an emotion, a bond that stands the test of time.

Until we meet again, JDMC family!
