US-based social media giant Meta is bringing new features and more language support to its Meta AI chatbot. Meta AI will be available in seven new languages including Hindi across all the Meta-owned social media apps including Instagram and Facebook. The company recently announced that Meta AI on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook will be available in seven new languages – Hindi, Hindi-Romanized Script, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Meta AI is being expanded to a total of 22 countries. The new countries where the AI chatbot will be available include Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Cameroon. This expansion not only introduces Meta AI to new regions but also broadens its language support, making the AI assistant accessible to a wider and more diverse audience.
Meta AI’s New Tools and Features
Meta AI is introducing new generative and creative tools for personalised image generation and solving more complex problems. These features will be available for both Android and iOS, but not all of them will be released globally. Meta’s recent updates reflect its ongoing efforts to make its AI tools more versatile and user-friendly.

Imagine me
Meta has announced that it is now starting testing “Imagine me” prompts in beta for the users in the US. The Imagine me feature lets users click a picture of themselves to generate different AI-generated pictures. Mark Zuckerberg himself showcased this feature on Instagram, sharing his AI pics and captioned them, “Messing with new Meta AI features.” To show how the feature works, Zuckerberg created a video of the entire process on Instagram. He first scanned his face using Meta AI and then asked it to imagine him as a gladiator. Then he asked it to imagine him as a boy band member and then wearing a big gold chain.
Editing AI Pics
Meta AI chatbot is getting creative editing capabilities which will enable users to add or remove objects from a generated image, change them and edit them as per their requirement. Once Meta AI generates an image based on the user prompt, the user can simply ask the chatbot to make changes to it such as swapping an object with another. Users can add, remove, or change objects, backgrounds, and more. Users will be able to share these images with contacts and in group chats too. Additionally, Meta will be soon adding a new “Edit with AI” button which the company said will “fine tune your imagined images even further.” This feature will be rolled out globally.
Meta AI In More Places
Meta said that they are starting to roll out image generation capabilities for Meta AI within feeds, stories, comments and messages across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. The feature will be currently available in English, but will soon get support for more languages.

Getting Smarter with Llama 3.1
Meta also introduced its most capable open-source AI model—Llama 3.1, a 405 billion-parameter large language model with support for multimodality. The company has expanded the availability of the latest model across its products such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. The company claims that Llama 3.1 405B can better handle complex queries, solve advanced math problems, and write code more efficiently. This feature is also expected to roll out globally, but the company has not confirmed it yet.
Meta AI on Meta Quest headset
The company announced that it will be rolling out the AI chatbot to Meta Quest headset in the US and Canada in experimental mode. Meta AI will replace the current Voice Commands on Quest, allowing users to control their headset hands-free, get answers to questions, stay up to date with real-time information, check the weather and more. Users will also get the ability to ask Meta AI questions about the things they see in their surroundings. Quest 3 is Meta’s latest mainstream VR headset and has features like high-fidelity passthrough. The headset is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 SoC, which can handle high-fidelity VR gaming.
By expanding language support and introducing new creative features, Meta AI is poised to become an even more integral part of users’ digital lives. Whether for practical applications or creative exploration, the new features demonstrate Meta’s commitment to innovation and user engagement.
